Volunteered time within a Senior Assisted Living Lodge/Senior Independent Living
Volunteer Job Description
The management at Wild Rose Manor are passionate about bringing relational activities/social
circles that encourage and uplift our senior residents and enhance their quality of life! Volunteers are
key and are a huge help to us! We can provide you with a vast experience as a volunteer and a time
of growing in character and confidence as a person! The Seniors really enjoy seeing young folks
eager and confident to engage with them and their life stories – it’s very meaningful!
Whether you are extroverted or introverted – there are many opportunities for you; and what
you want to learn from the experience is how much you put into it. We could use your help with
organizing storage spaces, seasonal decorating, indoor plant watering, assisting with crafts, seated
exercises, bingo, crib, card games and assisting with seasonal Events. Assisting with basic office
tasks such as laminating posters, shredding, sorting and creating.
If you feel confident and with our support you could stretch your creativity and research/lead a fun activity, game or craft. Socialize with the Seniors and listen to their stories and provide comfort and encouragement. Assisting alongside our Activities Coordinator with her scheduled activities and events.
Our residents are all very independent and capable – and while the lodge is a shared space, it is their home - we respect their privacy, and all socializing will be done in the main lounging areas or craft/puzzle rooms where they hang out as a community.
Requirements
Grande Spirit Foundation requires all volunteers to fill out our Volunteer Application, Criminal Record
Check, hour tracking, and a Volunteer Orientation (health & safety statements, building tour, safety
protocols, etc.)

Wild Rose Manor, 9358-70 Ave, GP
Frequency of Involvement
Weekdays only, Monday-Friday – Anytime between 8:00am-4:00pm
(Volunteer times determined and pre-planned with lodge management)
Minimum of 1 hour per visit – Maximum time spent per visit 3 hours (We are very flexible with figuring
out hours according to student schedule, availability and credit need)..
